First Night Of No More Waiting

Spoilers - None. Well, unless you didn't see the June 22nd episode

General Disclaimer - Oh, I don't own Olivia or Natalia or anyone else mentioned. They belong to some other people. Too bad, so sad.

They held hands all the way home - because, even though Olivia sleeps at the Beacon, she belongs at the farmhouse. Nowhere else will ever be home again.

And Natalia didn't let go, not during dinner and not during the movie.
Strong fingers - used for scrubbing and gripping - now turn so soft against Olivia's palm.
They trace the lines there, each length traveled and sending a shiver up Olivia's spine.

And Natalia didn't let go, even as Olivia drifted to the door with a sleepy Emma.
She held fast to Olivia's hand, slipping up to hold the arm, silently moving the shoulder and finding purchase on Olivia's neck.

"I'm trying to say good-night..." Olivia whispers.
"I know, but I don't want you to go. Not yet."
"What about--"
"I meant what I said today. I don't want to wait anymore."

And Olivia didn't have to ask what the woman was waiting for - a kiss, a touch, a life together.
Because she knows it is all of the above.
Feather-light but sure, Natalia's fingers slide into Olivia's hair.
They move as one, with Emma leaning against the door frame and with her little girl eyes already shut.
They move toward something better, something real and something true - captured in their first kiss on their first night of no more waiting.

Those troubles float away - Rafe and Frank and Father Ray and the neighbors and the whole damn world - they disappear and are replaced by two smiles.

"Now I can say good-night." Natalia says with a slight nod and with a joy that cannot be hidden.

They held hands until Olivia shut the door of her car - because, even though she is going to a hotel across town, Olivia is still at the farmhouse.
With the ducks. With the woods. With Natalia's heart and with Natalia's lips.
